How the round-trip ATS check works

The one-line claim

ResumeFully never claims universal ATS compatibility. It publishes a versioned, reproducible round-trip check instead: export a resume, re-parse those exact bytes with the same extraction pipeline a screening system would use, and show the extracted fields, their order, and anything dropped.

Why this differs from a rubric-based checker

Market research reviewed on 2026-08-26 found that most free ATS checkers score a resume against a static rubric (keyword density, section headers, formatting rules) rather than proving extraction against a real parser. Jobscan matches resume text against a pasted job description and highlights missing keywords; Rezi scores against roughly 30 criteria but limits free-plan exports; several tools moved their full analysis behind a paid trial in 2026 (sources below).
ResumeFully's check is narrower in scope by design: it does not claim to predict a hiring decision or guarantee any specific ATS vendor's behavior. It shows one thing precisely — what a deterministic extraction pass recovers from the exact file you exported — with the method version and known limitations stated on the same screen.

What the benchmark will publish

A versioned benchmark — fixtures, template/version, exported artifact, expected fields, extraction result, scoring method, failures, and a changelog — is planned for publication alongside the interactive checker once the public-facing job broker and access controls in front of the existing extraction pipeline are wired up. That public exposure is a tracked follow-up dependency of this page, not yet complete; see the Current status note below.
The underlying deterministic extraction pipeline, confidence/evidence contract, and the in-product round-trip check already exist in the product codebase (Phase 3 document services). What remains is exposing a scoped, rate-limited public entry point to the same pipeline without giving the public surface access to any authenticated user's private resume data.

Methodology and evidence commitments on this page describe what is true today about the underlying pipeline and what is explicitly planned, not a live public benchmark.
